eIQnetworks recently surveyed over 250 MSSPs and found that the lack of in-house security expertise and complex industry regulations are driving the demand for managed security services. In fact, 94 percent of respondents cited ‘lack of internal expertise’ as a key reason for outsourcing security, followed by ‘compliance’ (67 percent) and ‘cost management’ (61 percent). The regulations and industry standards cited most often by respondents include PCI DSS, SOX and HIPAA.
